Being a thoroughbred cheese cake lover, I just had to find this place after seeing a piece on CheeseCakes Etc. on Tuine and Tossels, KykNet. The moment I laid eyes on all those decadent cheese cakes I knew I had to go there. The website address given on the programme was wrong and did not work … big disappointment, but I did not let that get to me. With Google and watching a lot of KykNet not to miss the rebroadcast, I found it www.cheesecakesetc.co.za!
It was not hard to convince my friend that this is where we had to go today! GPS set and off we went. Initially we could not see it clearly from the road, but once we found the place it was like being in a different time zone and totally different world. Time stood still! 30 cheesecakes to choose from, baked and fridge. All the cheesecakes are freshly handmade, with cheese they produce themselves.
Die Kaaskoekhuis is not your average coffee shop, you make your own tea or coffee, everything are set out nicely and you can choose in which of the fine porcelain you’d like to have you tea or coffee. I do not like Red Velvet Cake, but the Red Velvet, Baked Cheese Cake Combo was divine! Not too sweet or too rich. Just perfect. It is a very relaxed atmosphere, where people chat like old friends even if they have not ever met before.
Besides cheesecakes they also have many cake-related gifts and articles. They also have a variety of antique porcelain, tea sets, antique tea sets, trio sets, tea pots etc.
On Saturday 8 June 2013, CheeseCakes Etc. will be hosting an Antique Fair, with some of the most beautiful antique porcelain and tea sets on offer.
Don’t miss out! Be sure to visit CheeseCakes Etc. in 894 Wekker Street – Moreleta Park, Pretoria.
