There are quite a few reasons to visit the Southern Cape these days – the wonderful climate, the friendly people, and the amazing places to visit. One of the most popular and loved tourist attractions for almost 2 decades has undoubtedly been the Redberry Farm in the George area.
Established in 2001 on the grounds of an old dairy farm, the Redberry farm has spent the past 16 years planting deep roots in the hearts of families in the Garden Route and holidaymakers from far and wide.
As a commercial strawberry farm, the Redberry Farm produces over 400 tons of strawberries annually and distribute to stores across the country, but they don’t stop there – they also produce syrups, jams and other exclusive strawberry products that are available to purchase at the farm stall.
The holiday accommodation on the farm is steeped in history as the original building was built and occupied by the family of famous South African poet and writer CJ Langenhoven.
Boasting something for everyone’s taste, the farm is filled with action and adventure alike, not to mention the blissful berries. With a massive play park, mini train rides, pedal go-carts, bumper boats, bubble ball and pony rides, not to mention the largest hedge maize in the Southern Hemisphere, there is no better way to keep the children busy and elevate your day to “best day ever”.
But adults have their own piece of paradise to embrace with a farm stall, tea garden, and a sweet new addition, the Red Barn Coffee & Berry bar to keep them occupied while the kids are playing their hearts out.
The Redberry farm also hosts the Strawberry Festival in late September, taking family fun to the next level with massive jumping castles, lots of interesting stalls and treats and a bumper crop of great entertainment. It is pure (natural) pleasure!
Whether you are in the area for a holiday or you are a local looking for the perfect venue to host a party – the Redberry farm is a dream venue for your every whim, with or without little critters needing constant entertainment.
